Erica Cody, accomplished singer/songwriter, TV personality and Activist, today releases her new single “Love Me Like I Do”, Friday 12th Jan 2024. “Love Me Like I Do”, co-written by Cody, fellow Irish pop sensation Aimée, Grammy nominated artist Ruth-Anne Cunningham and renowned producer & songwriter Richey McCourt, is an up-tempo, high-energy, feel-good anthem about self love, and is available to stream now.
This week, Cody was announced as the first contender in the race to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 this May in Malmo, Sweden with “Love Me Like I Do”. Six songs, selected from hundreds of entries received by RTÉ, will compete on The Late Late Eurosong Special on 26th Jan, 9:35pm on RTÉ One. The successful winner will represent Ireland at the official Eurovision Song Contest 2024 – semi-finals will take place on 7th and 9th May with the Grand Final broadcasting on 11th May 2024.
Addressing the prospect of representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Erica continues,
“I always thought that I’d be representing my country with a basketball jersey on my back, but that was cut short due to injury which was the catalyst for me to really pursue music. So, to be able to represent Ireland doing the one thing I love the most (music) and have now made my career not only would be an honour but a huge full circle moment. We’re deep in rehearsals and it’s all coming together so nicely. I really think I could do Ireland proud and bring it home!”
